About St. Cecilia’s Care Home
The care we provide at St Cecilia’s care home
We provide residential care for up to 21 people along with day care services. We specialise in caring for those with dementia and confusion. Our care home residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to make them feel more at home. Each has a care plan drawn up with the help of other care professionals and their family. This is regularly reviewed as we tailor their care to meet changing needs.
Caring for a person with confusion or dementia involves the whole family and we pride ourselves on providing excellent on-going support. Relatives are welcome to visit the care home at any time and to contact us with any requests or concerns they may have. We hold regular relatives’ meetings to keep everyone fully up to date with the latest information from St Cecilia’s care home and publish a bi-monthly newsletter.
We seek regular feedback from the residents, their families, visitors to the care home and our own staff and always strive to improve our care based on that feedback and any other issues that are raised, during inspection for example.
St Cecilia’s care home is staffed by highly-trained, caring staff who put the needs of our residents first and adopt the very latest techniques in providing care for people with dementia.
Activities at St Cecilia’s care home
Activities and pastimes encourage residents to remain physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially active. At our Scarborough care home we have regular weekly entertainment including games, sing-along sessions, gentle exercise and regular reminiscence activities. We also welcome visiting entertainers to provide a variety of stimulating and enjoyable sessions and also enjoy regular outings.
St Cecilia’s sees the importance of helping our residents to retain their independence, dignity and pride. We therefore receive regular visits from a hairdresser, a private chiropodist, and an aromatherapist.
Our residents love meal times and they always enjoy tasty and nutritious food tailored to their individual tastes and dietary needs, all cooked fresh daily.
In addition, we love a celebration at St Cecilia’s and enjoy parties to mark religious festivals, major sports events, royal occasions and national fundraising days.
