At Saint Cecilia’s, we believe that recognising and celebrating our people is one of the most important things we do. That’s why we were delighted to recently collect some delicious handmade chocolates from the wonderful Crofts Chocolates in Scarborough – a small but meaningful moment that marks the official start of our 2026 Care Awards nominations.
Each year, our Care Awards give us the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible dedication, compassion and commitment shown by colleagues across our services. What makes these awards especially powerful is that staff are nominated by their own teams, ensuring every nomination reflects genuine appreciation from those who work alongside them every day.
The chocolates themselves also represent something very close to our hearts. One of our core values at Saint Cecilia’s is Community Integration – a pledge to actively engage with our local communities and to support and use businesses within them wherever possible. By working with local companies such as Crofts Chocolates, we’re proud to play a small part in strengthening the communities we are part of, while celebrating excellence within our own organisation.
Over the coming months, teams will be submitting nominations for colleagues who consistently go above and beyond in their roles, making a real difference to the lives of residents, families and fellow staff members.
Finalists will be announced later this year, ahead of our much-anticipated Care Awards Night at the Scarborough Spa, where we’ll come together to celebrate the people who truly embody the values and spirit of Saint Cecilia’s.
We can’t wait to read the nominations and to celebrate the amazing individuals who make our organisation such a special place to work and receive care. 💙
