There are few occasions as special as a 100th birthday, and everyone at Saint Cecilia's Nursing Home was delighted to help Phyllis Padgham celebrate this remarkable milestone.
On 8th October, Phyllis reached the incredible age of 100, surrounded by family, friends and the dedicated team at Saint Cecilia's. The home was transformed for the occasion, with decorations, delicious food and entertainment helping to create a truly memorable day for a much-loved resident.
Born in Surrey in 1926, Phyllis later made her home in Hastings, Sussex, where she spent much of her adult life before moving to Scarborough to be closer to her son, Mike. Over the years, she has touched the lives of many people, and reaching her centenary gave everyone the perfect opportunity to reflect on her extraordinary journey.
The celebrations at Saint Cecilia's were filled with smiles, laughter and plenty of birthday cheer, as residents, staff and visitors came together to mark the occasion. The festivities continued later with a family gathering at North Yorkshire Water Park, allowing loved ones to share in this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
Speaking after the event, Phyllis's son, Mike Padgham, expressed his gratitude to the team at Saint Cecilia's for making the day so special.
"Mum is an inspiration to us all, and it was wonderful to celebrate her 100th birthday together. She had a lovely time, and seeing her so happy meant everything to us. We cannot thank the staff enough for the love, care and effort they put into making her birthday so special. As a family, we are deeply grateful."
