There was plenty of excitement, laughter and a whole lot of flipping this morning as Saint Cecilia’s Care Group proudly took part in the 2026 Scarborough Pancake Day Race in the heart of Scarborough town centre.

The annual event is a firm favourite in the local calendar and offers much more than a simple sprint. Teams battle their way around an obstacle course while also being judged on fancy dress, how well they entertain the crowd, and - crucially - how much pancake remains in the pan by the time they cross the finish line!

Representing Saint Cecilia’s Care Group were our Managing Director, Aaron, and Finance Director, Jordan, who threw themselves into the spirit of the day with energy, enthusiasm and a competitive edge. Their efforts certainly paid off, as they raced their way into the Grand Final and finished as fantastic runners-up.

While we narrowly missed out on taking home the coveted Golden Frying Pan this year, we couldn’t be prouder of the team’s performance - and we’re already setting our sights on 2027. We have a feeling that’s going to be our year!

Beyond the competition, events like this are a wonderful opportunity to connect with our local community, support much-loved traditions, and showcase the fun, friendly spirit that sits at the heart of Saint Cecilia’s Care Group.
