At Saint Cecilia’s Care Group, delivering exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do. One of the key ways we uphold the highest standards across all our homes is through continuous staff development - and Moving and Handling training is an essential part of that commitment.
Last month, team members from across our homes took part in comprehensive Moving and Handling sessions designed to strengthen safe working practices, reduce risk, and enhance the quality of support we provide every day.
Putting Safety First for Residents and Staff
Moving and Handling is more than a mandatory course - it’s a cornerstone of safe and dignified care. The training ensures our teams understand:
How to move and handle residents safely
The correct use of hoists and mobility equipment
How to protect themselves and others from injury
The importance of maintaining residents’ comfort, independence, and wellbeing during transfers
By reinforcing these essential skills, we create an environment where staff feel confident in their roles and residents receive the safe, respectful support they deserve.
Consistency Across All Saint Cecilia’s Homes
With five care homes across Scarborough, Pickering and Whitby, it is vital that every member of our team works to the same high standards. Regular training ensures our approach remains consistent, compassionate, and aligned with best practice.
This shared knowledge allows us to continue offering outstanding levels of care in:
Residential Care
Dementia Care
Nursing and End-of-Life Support
Short-Stay and Respite Services
Our Commitment to Continual Improvement
At Saint Cecilia’s Care Group, we believe that investing in our people is investing in our residents. By giving staff the tools, confidence, and training they need, we ensure our homes remain safe, supportive, and uplifting places to live and work.
We are incredibly proud of our dedicated teams for taking part in this vital training and for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care every single day.
