Today, we’re delighted to share an update that truly brings that commitment to life. We are proud to be extending our support to Eastfield Medical Centre by providing additional space for patient consultations at The Lounge, our day care centre in Eastfield.

This new partnership marks an important step forward for local healthcare provision. With the additional space now available, Eastfield Medical Centre can increase the number of consultations it offers, helping to ensure that residents in Eastfield continue to have access to essential GP services right on their doorstep. This move also signals the much-anticipated return of face-to-face medical services in the Eastfield area - something the community has greatly missed in recent months.

Bringing GP Services Back Into the Heart of Eastfield

Earlier this year, Eastfield Medical Centre suffered severe flood damage, leaving their building unusable and forcing their team to operate remotely while plans for repair and restoration got underway. With repairs expected to continue into 2026, the need for temporary accommodation became increasingly urgent - not only for the Medical Centre’s staff, but for their patients who rely on consistent and accessible healthcare.

Recognising the importance of maintaining these vital services, Saint Cecilia’s stepped in to help. The Medical Centre has already begun using one of the consultation rooms at The Lounge, and this arrangement has now grown into a larger, more flexible setup designed to support rising demands.

A Partnership Built on Community Spirit

For Managing Director Aaron Padgham, the decision to offer space to Eastfield Medical Centre was an easy one.

“At Saint Cecilia’s, supporting our local community is at the heart of everything we do,” Aaron said. “By offering additional space to Eastfield Medical Centre, we hope to make a real difference to residents who rely on their services every day. Working together like this shows what can be achieved when local organisations collaborate for the benefit of the community.”

This collaboration highlights the power of community spirit - something that both organisations hold as a core value. By pooling resources and working together, both teams are helping to ensure continuity of care at a time when many residents need it most.

Ensuring Seamless Care for Patients

Eastfield Medical Centre’s Practice Manager, Tammy Stewart, expressed her gratitude for the partnership:

Over the coming months, both teams will be working closely to ensure a smooth transition for staff and patients. The Lounge will continue delivering its usual day care services for older people, as well as those living with dementia or physical or learning disabilities. The addition of medical consultations has been carefully planned to ensure that both services can operate smoothly, side by side.

While the Medical Centre’s building undergoes restoration, the temporary facilities at The Lounge will provide stability, accessibility, and continuity for the Eastfield community.
